Trip to Kennedy Space Center
On Tuesday, November 25, Grandpa John (the good looking guy in the middle with the camera around his neck) was kind enough to spend his day off of work at work giving his family an expert tour of Kennedy Space Center. Our group consisted of Grandpa John, Gramma Lin, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Kristin, Cousin Elisa, Uncle Mark, Aunt Faith, Cousin Conor, Cousin Collin, Cousin Aidan, Cathy, Johnmark, Cate, Eve and Jonah (15 in all). We had a great day with a great guide.
The slide show below shows some of the highlights of the day.

The Answer to Our First Poll
Giraffe in Timeout
Last Monday, we picked up Gramma Lin in Daytona and headed south to the Brevard Zoo. We saw lots of fun and interesting things, but this giraffe was my favorite. He was in "timeout" because he ran off the other giraffes and, apparently, he had been swinging his head at visitors. Unfortunately, I didn't get any footage of the head swinging but, it was still very cool to gets this close.

Three Little Monkeys
Our friends Jon and Kristina (and Kylie and Luke) gave us a few costumes for the babies. When we saw the monkey costume, our first thought was "see no evil, hear no evil...etc." The babies wouldn't cooperate as far as copying the appropriate hand gestures, so these poses had to suffice.

As you can see by these three pictures (if you haven't already noticed)...
Cate, Eve, and Jonah have a tendency to climb on top of...
and inside of whatever they find around the house. It provides a great deal of amusement, but also a bit of frustration as each of the Little Monsters enjoys falling off of the things onto which they have climbed...that is, they enjoying the falling, just not so much the landing.
Eve's Lengtheining Hair
Well, Eve's hair has gotten long enough now that we have to try to do something with it. Neither Cathy nor I have any experience with attempting to tame the hair of a toddler. Usually Eve's hair is flying free Sunday through Friday, but on Sabbath we try to reclaim some manner of folicular order...so, here's Johnmark's best attempt.

Walkin' Babies
We have video of Cate demonstrating her waling skills also, but Blogger says the file is too big...so we'll try again later with a different video (but, she Cate can do it too).

The Latest Stats...
Anyway, on to the stats...
Cate weighs 19lbs and 13oz and she is 28 1/2" long.
Eve weighs 19lbs and 6oz and she is 28 1/2" long.
Jonah weighs 20lbs and 13oz and is 29" long.
Since their last vist, Eve, all by herself, gained almost as much as Cate and Jonah did together so, she is all done with being the frail little one that everyone needs to be worried about...she's ready to run with the big dogs (and Winston too).
That is not to belittle what Cate and Jonah accomplished...all three of them are right on track, in the appropriate growth range, and they seem to be as normal as they can be considering who their parents are.

The First Birthday Weekend
On Sunday (July 20) I thought it would be a good idea to try a Sea World trip...little did I realize that we live in Florida and that it would end up being 95 degrees in Orlando with a relative humidity of "moist." There were flashes of enjoyment from the babies (and I think we captured those in the pictures from the Remix below) but they were pretty miserable most of the day.
They were all asleep (albeit briefly) as we waited to see the Blue Horizon Dolphin Show. Oh, but then a large group of well-meaning Brazilians noticed the sleeping triplets and commenced to fawn over, touch and, yes, awaken said sleeping triplets. Please note that the country of origin is not significant in regards to the behavior...most anyone we come across in public feels that it is not only their right, but also their duty to point out that we have three babies and also to awkwardly express their affection for these three children.
Ah, going out in public.
So, we had a very private birthday celebration at home. It was a nice afternoon of naps, dinner, presents and cupcakes. As you will see in the video, the girls were a bit more timid around the cupcake than Jonah, but, in the very least, each cupcake was missing a good portion of icing.
I've had to break the video up into three segments, each of which will take a while to upload so, they will be available for viewing shortly...by the way, don't worry about trying to watch the video segments in order...no matter which order you view them, the plot remains the same and the ending remains predictable.

Tugging with Winston
Cate and Jonah were having a blast (and being egged on by their father) with their dog. Eve tried to get in on the action, but wisely stayed on the outskirts. What the video does not show is the result of Cate's tumble at the end. It is a bit of a long clip, but the laughter from the babies makes it worth it for me.

Our 4th of July Video
These are some of the sights and sounds that have become frequent in our household. Jonah, Cate and Eve babbling, Eve showing off her clapping skills, Jonah trying to snap, Cate smacking her tray and everything in between. This is about as close as we got to fireworks today. Anyway...Happy 4th!
